Graduate School: Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University

Experience

Received a Bachelor of Science degree from DePaul University in 2013 with dual concentrations in Cognitive Neuroscience in Psychology and Pre-Med in Biology. Completed a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2018 from Adler University. Currently in the dissertation phase to finalize a Doctoral Degree in Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision from Adler University.

Utilizing a multicultural approach, Anna Kovaleva has been able to integrate various therapeutic systems to assist a broad range of individuals from all walks of life and experiences. She worked in children and adolescent crisis and residential programs, nursing homes, community mental health centers, private practices, and non-profits. Her experiences and passions have led to her specializing in trauma treatment, especially for those who experienced trauma as children. She also has expertise in working with attachment issues, anxiety, depression, emotional abuse and dysregulation, mood disorders, and low self-esteem and worth. She worked with clients who have experienced human trafficking, severe poverty, personal hardships, community violence, and police brutality. Having over 8 years of experience working with migrant children ages 0-17 who were seeking political and refugee asylum and those in the DCFS and Correctional systems. She is fluent in both Russian and Spanish.
