Dr. Anna Matyja is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Illinois. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Clinical Psychology from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in 2014. Specializing in adult behavioral health, Dr. Matyja completed her Doctoral Internship at the Thomas E. Cook Counseling Center at Virginia Tech. She received extensive training in individual and group psychotherapy and psychological testing, focusing on the unique needs of young adults and the college population.
Dr. Matyja works with adult and adolescent populations on a wide variety of issues including Mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, emotion regulation difficulties, and executive functioning deficits. She has an extensive background in psychological women's issues and approaches her clinical work from an integrative approach. By using Cognitive Behavioral, Interpersonal, Acceptance, and Commitment Therapy, she can effectively meet the unique needs of each patient. She is EMDR certified and has received training in Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma. Lastly, Dr. Matyja is also fluent in Polish.
